DinoCrypt is the ultimate cryptographic defense system to protect your privacy. When you DinoCrypt your files, no one else can decrypt them and read their content. If a hacker breaks into your computer, the intruder can not decipher and read the contents of your DinoCrypted files. Neither can your system administrator, your boss, co-workers or family members. You can send your DinoCrypted files over the Internet and even if they get intercepted, their contents can not be deciphered. DinoCrypt is based on the same encryption algorithm as the one used by the United States government and virtually all financial institutions around the world. It is known as the 3DES (triple DES) algorithm, where DES stands for Data Encryption Standard. This algorithm provides protection against a brute force attack equivalent to 1 in 10⁵¹.

DinoCrypt goes further to enhance the basic algorithm. First we chain the encryption of the next symbol with the result of the previous operation, and then we add encryption keys to make DinoCrypt resistant against all modern cryptographic analysis techniques. The resulting algorithm provides protection against a brute force attack equivalent to 1 in 10⁶⁵.

DinoCrypt provides yet another layer of protection by deriving the encryption keys from your password. This is a very powerful technology that makes it impossible to revert the process and to derive your password backwards. Therefore, your passwords are secure and resistant against all sorts of password cracking systems.

DinoCrypt technology protects the product from virus attacks and will detect if a computer virus attempts to attach to DinoCrypt executable. In such cases you must either remove the virus or reinstall DinoCrypt.

DinoCrypt offers you the familiar and easy to use Microsoft Windows interface and allows you to DinoCrypt your files with just few clicks of the mouse. The friendly user interface remembers your last 10 DinoCrypted files for fast access. This saves you the time and the effort of searching through your disk for each new filename. A comprehensive help system (DinoHelp) is provided to assist you in navigating the product and to answer common questions.

For users who prefer to use DOS shell, DinoCrypt offers a versatile command line interface that you can use to run DinoCrypt from a DOS prompt or as a batch process. For example you can configure your system to DinoCrypt certain files at a given time of the day or after you turn on your system. Command line interface is also useful in cases when you want to DinoCrypt multiple files simultaneously.

DinoCrypt comes with a setup program that performs a comprehensive test of all DinoCrypt features. If DinoSetup finds a problem during the installation, it asks for your permission to send an automatic email to support@dincrypt.com for prompt resolution. After a successful installation the setup will create a shortcut to DinoCrypt on your desktop and a new program group from where you can easily access the product, the help system and other utilities.

The core DinoCrypt engine achieves top performance of 0.185 seconds for DinoCrypting 1M bytes of data on Windows XP Professional development platform with a 1.5GHz processor. On the other end of the spectrum a computer running Windows 95 at 166MHz DinoCrypts the same 1M bytes for 3.270 seconds. DinoCryptPro is our premier development product. DinoCryptPro is designed for software developers who customize Microsoft Office applications. DinoCryptPro is a COM server and can be used in any other COM client application, like VC++, VB or ASP.

DinoCryptPro has interfaces to set a default password and to encrypt bulk data. DinoCryptPro allows you to customize Microsoft office applications like Word, Excel, Exchange or Outlook. With DinoCryptPro you can encrypt the current document and communicate it securely with others, without saving the document in unencrypted format.

DinoCryptPro uses the same encryption and password protection technology as DinoCrypt. This allows your clients to DinoCrypt files with their personal licenses and you can decrypt and view those files, using you DinoCryptPro customized Microsoft Word without ever storing the unencrypted version on disk.

DinoCryptPro has virus protection built in and will detect any virus attachment to the dll. In such cases you will have to remove the virus or to reinstall the product.

DinoCryptPro comes with a complete API description and sample code in Visual C++, Visual Basic and ASP that you can use in your applications. Test cases are given as well for you to verify your integration. DinoCryptPro has a small footprint and is compatible with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP operating systems.

You, as a developer are in control of the memory management and memory allocation for the data buffers that you send to DinoCryptPro. DinoCryptPro does not allocate memory for your data and its additional memory requirements are negligible.

The core DinoCryptPro engine achieves top performance of 0.185sec for DinoCrypting 1M bytes of data on Windows XP Professional development platform with a 1.5GHz processor. In other words DinoCryptPro can encrypt over 5.72 Mbytes per second. This is plenty of power for a 10 Mbits/sec network connection. It will take DinoCryptPro less than half second to support a full duplex connection of that type. This way your server can connect two LANs with fully encrypted traffic and still have more than 55% of its processor time available for other tasks.

DinoCryptPro distribution server is part of DinoCryptPro. The distribution server provides all COM features for seamless integration into your own products. To setup DinoCryptPro distribution server as part of your own product you need your distribution name. You can get your distribution name by selecting “Distribution Name” from the help menu. Then you execute a single command line as part of your installation process. It is that easy! Detailed step by step instructions are provided in the help system and in DinoCryptProExamples.txt.

The following table compares the cryptographic strength of DinoCrypt with that of other wide spread encryption algorithms. Cryptographic strength is measured in terms of resistance against brute force attack. The brute force attack is a method that tries all possible key combinations until the correct one is found and is a good measure of how difficult is it to break a particular cryptographic algorithm.
